Fusion M Cruising

Developed for cruising sailors who demand the ultimate in durability and performance, Fusion M cruising sails are the first to take advantage of Quantum’s SmartSail technology. Unlike other high performance cruising sails which use premade composite panels assembled in a tri-radial configuration, Fusion M cruising sails are engineered as full size membranes with custom fiber mapping tailored to the sail’s design purpose and expected usage. Fusion M’s unique approach relies on an adaptable, fully integrated, “smart” sail structure, as opposed to a conventional “load path” construction found in traditional performance cruising sails. High modulus carbon and technora fibers, (sandwiched between rugged woven polyester taffetas), are blended in a dense fiber matrix, creating a “smart structure” that integrates and shares loadings evenly throughout the whole sail.
